Vera Laurie Borden 90, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Westside Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Kirk Bishop will officiate.
Mrs. Borden was a native of Colbert County, AL. She was a retired seamstress. She was also a founding member of Westside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Woodrow Borden; parents, Emery and Naomi McDonald Schultz; brothers, Roscoe, Curtis, and Russell Schultz; and sisters, Peggy Inman, Emerald Mitchell, and Pauline Greer.
She is survived by sons, Ronnie (Donna) Borden and James Timothy Borden; daughters, Barbara Gail (Kenneth) Hand, Laura (Bobby) Ezekiel, and Sandra Borden; grandchildren, Dana, Heather, and Derek Ezekiel, Gina, Beth, and Kimberley Hand, Heath and Hayley Borden; 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Heath, Danny, and Dale Borden, Derek Ezekiel, Taylor and Ethan Harrison.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Westside Baptist Church Building Fund.
