Vera E. Humber, age 84, of Dora, AL passed away September 12, 2019. Vera is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John David Humber; parents Lawrence Claude Wallace and Lona Gertrude Wallace; brother, Larry Wallace; 2 infant brothers and an infant sister. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Humber (Kenneth Barfield); son, Michael Humber; grandchildren, Leslie (Tyler) Threadgill, Michelle (Jadd) Jaruinski, Jake (Amanda) Humber, and Rachel (Winston) Spivey as well as six great-grandchildren. Vera was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman of God. Vera was an excellent seamstress and made most of the clothing for her children when they were young. She was a wonderful baker of cakes, pies, cookies and candy. Vera was also a gifted artist. She painted, sketched and wrote poetry. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home, Sunday, September 15, 2019. Visitation from 12:00-2:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
