Vera Ann Patton Tenney, age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 23, 1937, in Pelham to the late Dennis and Althea (Rose) Patton. Before her retirement, Vera Ann was employed for twenty years as a LPN in Skilled Care at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and her favorite color was green. Vera Ann loved to travel out west with her friend Brenda and had always wanted to go back to Ireland, but most of all she cherished going to her home place in Pelham. A devout Christian, she had attended Calvary Baptist Church in the past and will be remembered for her generous and loving nature. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph Tenney; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hall; sister, Jean Bittner; brothers, Wayne Patton and Morris Patton; and son-in-law, Brian Arney. Vera Ann is survived by her loving children, Earl (Chris) Tenney of Massillon, Ohio, Jill Arney of Akron, Ohio, Michael Tenney of Winchester, Jeffrey P. Tenney of Akron, Ohio, and Bobbi (Bobby) McCoy of Fayetteville; son-in-law, Charles Hall; grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Adam, Lindsey, Laura, Alaina, Stephanie, and Cameron; several great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Claudia) Patton of Nashville, Don Patton of Decherd, and Sue Patton of Estill Springs; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A memorial gathering will be from 10am-12pm on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Hillside Memorial Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Adoration Hospice in Manchester or the charity of your choice.
