Velma Ruth Michael, 75, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Akins Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
