Velma Newell Beasley, age 86, of Haleyville, Alabama, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012. Visitation will be Monday October 29, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. Funeral service will be Tuesday October 30, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Winston Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Beasley is survived by her children, Gereda Oliver and Sherron Turner; brothers, Ralph Newell, U.B. Newell, Orman Newell, Arvile Newell; sisters, Sherry Spain, Mary Ann Norman, and Irene Swallow; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Willie and Dessie Newell; husband, Oather Beasley; and sisters, Flora Mae Smith, Beth Pierce, Athel Kinard, and Cora Mae Allison.
