Velma Fay Summerford – Obituary

Velma Fay Summerford, 91, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at her residence. She was born July 19, 1924, to J. C. and Dosha Upton Mauldin. She loved the Lord and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, baking, and being with her grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Brent Norris officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Summerford; her three sons, Wayne Mauldin, James Summerford, and Billy Summerford; one brother, Tulon Mauldin; two sisters, Stella Lamb and Thelma Ginn; and her parents.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Mauldin, Kevin Coker, Trey Weaver, Shawn Keith, Stuart Weaver, and Mason Weaver.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday, January 3, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
