Velma C. StewartVelma C. Stewart, 88, of Guntersville, passed away Thursday.

She was preceded in death by father, C.W. Scott; mother, Essie Scott; husbands, Isaac Herron and Ernest Stewart; son, Harold Herron; and 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Surviving are Special Friend, Emmitt Treece; daughters, Cheryl (Daniel) Beliveau, Doris Dillahunty, and Winona (David) Coronado; sons, Roger (Deborah) Herron, and Aaron Herron; brother, Albert (Becky) Scott; 40 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stewart served as past president of the American Legion Auxiliary #58 in El Paso, TX. She never met a stranger and was a second mother to so many people. Mrs. Stewart was a life long member of the VFW. Her family was everything to her.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses of Kindred and Kindred Hospice care.

A memorial service will be held at Honeycomb Baptist Church on Saturday at 4 PM. Rev. Patrick Hammett will be officiating.
