Vehicle Stop In Lawrence County Nets One person Arrested, Money And Drugs

LAWRENCE COUNTY-The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect who has been charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance:

“On April 26th, 2023, Agents with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office VICE/Narcotics Unit and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of HWY 101/HWY 157 (in the Hatton Community).
During the course of the stop, the driver was identified as Morris Chadwick Halbrooks (47yoa). Narcotics Agents were familiar with Halbrooks and aware that he had an active warrant for his arrest with Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office for Distribution of a Controlled Substance. After confirming the warrant, Halbrooks was taken into custody without incident.
A search of Halbrooks’ property was conducted, which led to the discovery of Methamphetamine (in excess of 3oz) and a quantity of US currency.
Halbrooks was arrested and charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Trafficking in Methamphetamine. He is being held in Lawrence County Jail without bond, pending revocation.
All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
