Vaughn Hope Wilson, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Decatur, Alabama on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born in North Dakota on March 18, 1943 to Ernie and Agnes Olson Vachal.
Graveside Service will be Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Huntsville Memory Gardens located at 6810 University Drive NW, Hwy 72 W, Huntsville, Alabama 35806 with Pastor Jess Montegudo officiating.
Ms. Wilson was a homemaker who perfected the chocolate chip cookie, along with many other recipes her friends and family were lucky enough to eat. She loved the art of finding a great deal while shopping, but loved giving gifts even more. She never let illness or age slow her down. She could be found on the sidelines of ballgames; traveling out of state; or at get-togethers, as long as family was involved. She loved and was loved ferociously and will be forever missed.
Ms. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James Wilson.
Ms. Wilson is survived by her two sons, David Wilson (Lisa) and Darren Wilson (Staci); ten grandchildren, Baker Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Brady Wilson, Elise Wilson, Isabelle Wilson, Silas Wilson, Noah Wilson, Jordan Vanhoozer, Skyler Cole, and Chloe Cole; and four siblings, Anna Mae Wamre, Larry Vachal, Kelly Vachal, and Colleen Christensen.
Shelton Funeral Home was honored and entrusted to assist the family with the service arrangements.
