  Homegoing Service for  Mrs. Valerie Virginia Brown 55, of Decatur, Alabama will be noon Saturday January 29, 2022 at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with Bishop T.D. Strong officiating. Inhumation will follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to service. Public viewing will be Friday January 28, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mrs Valerie Virginia Brown was born to the late Mrs. Sara Gholston and Mr. John Walter Townsend on January 27, 1966 in Decatur Alabama. She fell asleep into eternity on January 18, 2022 at the Parkway Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital.

She was preceded in death by: parents;?her sister, Emma Pearl Townsend; brothers, Victor Ray Gholston and Wesley Gholston.

She confesses hope in Christ 25 years ago at Pentecostal House of Prayer under the Leadership of the late Bishop A. C. Strong. She has been a loyal, faithful member for over 30 years. Valerie who was affectionately called “Val” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Guy Brown; a son, Andriel Gholston; a daughter, Lakendra Townsend; three step-children: Christopher Williams, Curtis Bates (Bridget), Katrena Bates; five grandchildren: Jamick, Dominique, Nevaeh, Kylin, Jeremiah; a God-son: Taji Tiggs. She also leaves behind her sisters Lisa Gholston, Jennifer (Fredrick) Anderson, Jacqueline (Edward) Gholston, all of Decatur, Al. Angelia Townsend of Athens, Al. Her brothers John Walter(Jean) Townsend, James Samuel Townsend; all of Cleveland Ohio, Charlie (Kawana) Gholston, Thomas Townsend of Decatur, Al. A special friend Pamela Troupe, and a host of nieces and nephews.
