TENNESSEE VALLEY-The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Tuesday, January 29 from 12:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A quick transition from rain to snow will occur behind a passing cold front Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Snow is expected to continue through sunrise on Tuesday before tapering off to the east in the late morning hours.
Snow is possible with accumulations of 1 to 3 inches possible for portions of north central, northeast and northwest Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.
Travel could be very difficult and will impact the morning commute.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
