Update on shooting in Tuscumbia on Wednesday April 5th

TUSCUMBIA-Tuscumbia Police Chief Tony Logan reported a shooting in Downtown Tuscumbia on April 5.

When arriving at 120 Monroe Street the Tuscumbia police found one victim with a gunshot wounds to his arm and torso.  The man was taken to Keller Hospital and underwent surgery for his injuries.

One of the shooting suspects from Wednesday April 5th was apprehended Saturday afternoon around 2pm. The suspect and another person allegedly stole a vehicle in Memphis Tennessee and led authorities on a three county chase before abandoning the vehicle in a parking lot in Alcorn County Mississippi. The suspect and a passenger in the vehicle were taken into custody a short time later. The two remain in the Alcorn County jail. Both of the suspects in the chase are juveniles and the alleged shooter from Tuscumbia is awaiting extradition back to Alabama. The passenger in the vehicle is not believed to be affiliated with the shooting.
The suspect is charged with the following:
Aggravated Assault 1st Degree
Attempted Murder
Robbery 1st Degree
Burglary 1st Degree
Discharging a Firearm Into an Occupied Dwelling
Arrest warrants have been obtained for a second juvenile for the same above charges.
The victim in the shooting has improved from critical condition to stable condition and remains in Huntsville Hospital.
