FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama College of Arts and Sciences in conjunction with the UNA Center for Women’s Studies and AAUW-Florence will host the Alabama Women Student Leaders Conference (ALA-WSL), April 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the GUC.
ALA-WSL (pronounced “ala-whistle”) is a free, one-day leadership conference open to all students attending Alabama colleges and universities. The conference will consist of professional workshops that deal with resume writing, mind mapping, feminism, body language, activism, leadership skills, stress management and more.
In addition to the workshops, Erica Stout, training and program manager for AAUW National Member Leadership Programs, will give a presentation on current AAUW programs available for students.
Participants may attend some session or stay for the entire day. ALA-WSL is being held in conjunction with the AAUW State Convention which will take place April 9 and 10. Students may also register for the AAUW State Convention.
