THE SHOALS-There are many silent stories resting in our cemeteries of military men and women that served with distinction and whose forgotten stories need to be brought to life in remembrance that freedom is not free. It comes at a cost to family, friends, community and the nation.

“Ultimate Sacrifices – Bringing Forgotten Soldiers’ Stories to Life” is a recently created video channel based upon research of the lives of family and friends, and in instances where there is knowledge of Veterans buried in unmarked graves, advocacy for the placement of headstones in honor of their service is the ultimate goal. Stories will be periodically released. The first episode begins with the Cherokee, Alabama community paying tribute to U.S. Army Lt. Frankie Lee Wallace who gave his life to save others in his unit in Vietnam. Fifty-two years after his death, 18 miles of Highway 72 beginning at the Mississippi/Alabama state line was dedicated as Lt. Frankie Lee Wallace Memorial Highway in recognition on 17 November 2018.
