TRINITY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident that has taken the life of one person and sent another person to hospital:
“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, has claimed the life of a Decatur man.
Daniel G. Chenault, 70, was critically injured when the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe he was driving struck the 2023 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by Courtney J. Roberts, 33, of Winter Park, Fla. Daniel G. Chenault was transported to Decatur General Hospital where he succumbed to injuries sustained and was pronounced deceased. Patricia Chenault, 73, of Decatur, who was a passenger in the Santa Fe, was injured and transported to Decatur General Hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 20 near the 61 mile marker, approximately four miles west of Trinity, in Lawrence County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
