Two-Vehicle Accident Near Hamilton Has Taken The lives Of Two Individuals

HAMILTON-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident involving a bycle has taken the lives of two persons:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a bicyclist that occurred at approximately 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, has claimed two lives.

Carl R. Blewett, 54, of Kents Store, Va., was fatally injured when the bicycle he was operating was struck by the 2009 GMC Sierra driven by Carroll R. Parker, 61, of Lynn. The Sierra then left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. Blewett and Parker were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near the 10 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Hamilton, in Marion County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
