Two People Die Two-Vehicle Accident Near Hazel Green

HAZEL GREEN-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident that has taken the lives of two individuals from Tennessee on Saturday, August 7:

“A two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. Saturday, August 7, has claimed two lives.

Casey Payne, 24, of Estill Springs, TN., was killed when the 2001 Nissan Maxima he was operating ran off the right shoulder of the highway, over corrected, and struck a 2017 Lincoln MKZ. Payne, and his passenger Taylor Long, 25, of Decherd, Tn., were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Winchester Road approximately ten miles north of Hazel Green. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
