FLORENCE-On Thursday, March 2 the Florence Police Department asked for the help of the public in identifying two suspects wanted in several burglaries in East Florence. Arrests were made last night in this case:
“Yesterday, March 2 we sent out info a series of burglaries in East Florence. Your efforts solved these cases.
Last night our officer received a tip from someone who had seen the stories in the media last night. Officers responded to the tip and located Zachary Tyler Cartwright, 18, of Florence and Christopher Cody Masters, 23, of Florence inside of a hotel room at Budget Inn in
Christopher Cody Masters
Florence.
Officers immediately recognized them as the men shown in the video and pictures posted and sent to each of you. Detectives were contacted and charged both with burglary and theft. Mr. Masters is additionally charged with Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.
Additional charges are pending in related cases.
This case shows the importance of a healthy relationship with the media and the power of social media in solving crimes. As a result of your efforts, the victims in these cases will see closure and the men involved will be held accountable for their actions.
Both are currently being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.”
