Two In Decatur Arrested On Charges Of Unlawful Possession After Traffic Stop

a2DECATUR-Police Officers for the Decatur Police Department made a routine traffic stop resulting in charges for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Hereis how the Decatur Police Department describe the events:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

On April 12, 2014, Officers Keith Rutherford and Jonathan Macklin initiated a vehicle stop in the parking lot of Wheeler Estates at 134 Mcentire Lane Decatur, AL after observing a moving violation. Officers made contact with the driver identified as Corey Hart and the passenger identified as Jeffrey Johns. Corey Hart had a Revoked Drivers License.

During the course of the investigation officers located a quantity of Methamphetamine, Marijuana and drug sale and drug use paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Officers contacted Inv. Kirk Arrington the On Call Narcotics Investigator and advised him of the situation. Inv. Arrington told the Officers to chargea1 Hart and Johns with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Hart was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Multiple Lanes/Improper Lane Change and Driving While Revoked.

Hart was transported to the Decatur Jail and was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $4,000.00 total bond.

Jeffrey Johns was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree.

Johns was transported to the Decatur City and was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,500.00 total bond.”
