Two Courtland Teens Die In Single-Vehicle Accident

LAWRENCE COUNTY-The Alabama Law enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident near Lawrence County has taken the lives of two Courtland teens:

“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, in Lawrence County has claimed the lives of two Courtland teens.

The 17-year-old driver of a 2013 Ford Mustang was traveling north on Alabama 33 near Lawrence County 249, left the roadway in a curve and struck a tree. Both he and his 16-year-old passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s  (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”

“In light of recent events, there will be no school activities on campus tomorrow, June 9. The ACT Camp for Thursday, June 10, will be rescheduled for a later date. Our deepest condolences are extended to the families affected by today’s tragedy. Stay strong, Chief Nation.”

According to R.A. Hubbard’s Head Football Coach Mac Hampton, Derrick “DJ” Wiggins, and Javion Brown died this afternoon when the car they were riding in ran off the road and hit a tree.
