ATHENS-Two arrests made in Athens yesterday, July 22 both have to do with theft.
Here is the statements on the arrests from Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson:
“Justin Clay Goode was arrested yesterday afternoon for Conspiracy to commit Robbery 1st degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. Goode’s arrest is part of the robbery yesterday morning at the Budget in. Our investigation into this case revealed Goode had knowledge of the robbery before it was committed and was present outside the motel room when the robbery took place. The investigation into this case continues at this time. Other arrests are possible. Goode was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.
Steven Letroy McCurley was arrested last night on a warrant for Theft of
Property 1st degree. In August and September of 2014 McCurley deposited several checks into his account at Redstone Federal Credit Union and a short time later he would take all or most of the money out of the account. The checks he was writing were all on a closed accounts he had at another bank. The final amount McCurley got before the credit union noticed what he was doing is $2581.00. McCurley was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
