PRICEVILLE-Morgan County Drug Task Force assisted the Priceville Police Department with surveillance and the arrest of two suspects.  Here is the statement from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office:

“Wednesday evening, July 15, 2015 the Morgan County Drug Task Force, assisted by Priceville Police Department set up Surveillance on Hotel “Days Inn” in Priceville, Al. Agencies had been receiving information throughout the week of possible drug activity. The Morgan County Drug Task Force received information that in room #212 Methamphetamine was being Manufactured. Agents made contact with occupants of room #212 being:   Boe Don Rusie (w/m 31) and Joshua Laron Kelso (w/m 30).Agents were alerted to strong chemical odor present in the room and located an active One Pot

Meth Lab in the bathroom. Subjects were both detained and removed from room. Law Enforcement notified other patrons of the hotel of the danger and evacuated surrounding rooms. A search warrant was obtained for room #212 and executed. Agents located 32 oz. of Meth Oil, 1- One Pot Meth Lab, Sulfuric Acid, Lithium batteries and reagents. Priceville Fire Department responded on scene and checked out several patrons of the Hotel (adult and juvenile) who were in rooms adjacent to room #212 that were complaining of headaches. Both subjects were decontaminated on scene then transported to the Morgan County Jail. Both subjects are charged with the: Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine 1st Degree ($400,000.00 bond), Trafficking in Methamphetamine ($100,000.00 bond) and Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia ($10,000.00 bond). Bonds totaling $510,000.00.

Agents learned that subject Joshua Laron Kelso is currently out on bond for a recent arrest for the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine in Lawrence Co. and that just this February 2015 was released from prison after serving a 6 year sentence for the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office urges citizens of the County to report suspicious activity, and to remember that drug crimes are not victim less crimes.
