MORGAN COUNTY– On July 23 the Morgan County Drug Task Force were attempting to serve a suspect on drug charges. What they found lead to more charges.
Here is the statement from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office regarding the arrest of two suspects on drug charges:
“On Thursday, July 23, 2015, that the Morgan County Drug Task Force were out actively attempting to locate subject Shannon Levoid Turner (b/m 39).
Agents over the past several months had been purchasing Methamphetamine from Shannon Turner and were attempting to serve 3 Felony Distribution warrants for his arrest. Shannon Levoid Turner had 2 additional Misdemeanor and 2 outstanding Felony warrants for his arrest on other drug related and traffic offenses.
Agents, along with Morgan County Deputies, observed Shannon Turner driving on Hwy 67 in the Brooksville area of Morgan County and initiated traffic stop on vehicle. Agents made contact with driver being, Shannon Levoid Turner and passenger Miranda Valentine (w/f 20). Agents observed in vehicle several opened liquor bottles and recovered approximately 1 ounce of Crystal Methamphetamine and over 1 ounce of marijuana within the vehicle.
Agents also seized over $14,000.00 in cash that Shannon Levoid Turner was in possession of. Agents secured both the vehicle and residence of Shannon Levoid Turner.
Agents executed a Search Warrant at the residence locating drug paraphernalia and plastic baggies utilized in the resale of Illegal drugs. Agents also recovered a small amount of Cocaine within the residence.
During a complete search of vehicle, Agents located 2 handguns with one been reported as stolen, being a: small pocket 5 round, 22 caliber pistol, from a Morgan Co. residence. Agents also located and seized several Ipads, Cellphones and a Computer. Agents also seized vehicle being driven by Shannon Levoid Turner.
Both subjects were arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and for the Illegal Possession of Prohibited Liquor. Bond set at $80,600.00 per Judge Howell.
Investigators with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office will be making additional charges on Shannon Levoid Turner for Receiving Stolen Property 2nd Degree and for Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Shannon Levoid Turner is a Convicted Felony for Robbery 1st Degree.”
