KNOXVILLE, TN-On Monday, April 12 the Tennessee Valley Authority issued an update on the water management of The Tennessee River and it’s watershed after Easter Sunday’s massive amount of rainfall in the Tennessee Valley:

“We continue to manage the Tennessee River system to reduce downstream impacts after heavy rainfall and storms. A large portion of the Valley received 4-5 inches of rain that have resulted in large volumes of runoff flowing into the reservoir system. We continue to use the tributary dams to store water, and many will continue to rise above normal elevations. South Holston, Watauga, Cherokee, Norris, Tims Ford, and Nottely reservoirs will exceed summer pool levels. All reservoirs on the Tennessee River, except Kentucky Lake, will also exceed summer pool levels as we continue to move large volumes of water through the system.
