TVA Issues Traffic Caution for Memorial Parkway

cautionHUNTSVILLE– The Tennessee Valley Authority has issued a traffic caution during transmission line work across Memorial Parkway near Byrd Springs Road.

Transmission line construction crews will be installing transmission lines over the road from Friday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 9. Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST each day. The 500-foot-long, 161-kilovolt line will power Huntsville Utilities’ upgraded Byrd Springs Substation.

Motorists should proceed with caution on Memorial Parkway near the-44e32c430cc2c340 intersection of Byrd Springs Road, where crane trucks will be located on each side of the road to keep the lines off the road and above traffic. Traffic control personnel and signs will be present during work hours.

The Tennessee Valley Authority is a corporate agency of the United States that provides electricity for business customers and local power distributors serving 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states. TVA receives no taxpayer funding, deriving virtually all of its revenues from sales of electricity. In addition to operating and investing its revenues in its electric system, TVA provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists local power companies and state and local governments with economic development and job creation.
