Beginning with bills on May 1, the May 2016 total monthly fuel cost will be 1.632 cents per kilowatt hour for residential and business customers and 1.592 cents per kilowatt hour for large industrial customers served by TVA and local power companies.

This is the lowest fuel cost in six years and one of the lowest on record since we began calculating in 2006.

The fuel cost has gone down 12 times in the last 18 months.

The fuel cost has dropped by more than 20 percent since November 2015.

April was 1.717 cents per kilowatt hour.
