TUSCUMBIA-TVA Community Credit Union celebrated the opening of their new offices in Tuscumbia, located at 211 6th Street with a grand opening/open house and a good old fashioned ribbon cutting. The celebration took place on Tuesday, February 16 with a little help from friends, customers, city officials and The Shoals Chamber.
Now for just a word about TVA Community Credit Union:
“When you enter the lobby of any of our TVA Community Credit Union branches,
you will see the same gold, oval plaque hanging in each one. This plaque is titled,
“Our Commitment to You.” To know who we are as a credit union, you
merely have to read those words on the plaque.
It is this commitment that defines the very heart of our credit union! Our commitment
to excellence began in 1936, when the confines of our credit union
consisted of a filing cabinet behind Oscar Flatt’s desk on the second floor of the
old administration building on the TVA Reservation. Our credit union has witnessed
many exciting changes throughout our history including the latest in
technological advances and electronic service enhancements. But today, as we
celebrate the opening of our ninth branch, we do so in the same spirit of
‘people helping people’ that forged our humble beginnings.
TVA Community Credit Union is honored to now be a part of the historical
Tuscumbia community. We look forward to the future and to each and every
opportunity to extend our continued commitment to the citizens and business
leaders of the amazing city of Tuscumbia!”
