TUSCUMBIA-Children in Kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to submit writing entries for our Tuscumbia Young Writers Contest hosted by the City of Tuscumbia! Children can submit in one of four categories: Narrative Nonfiction, Narrative Fiction, Poetry or Informational writing. Word documents or PDFs can be uploaded in this form and should include the child’s full name, grade level, school, and parent’s email address at the top. Only one entry per child, please. Writing submissions are limited to no more than 1,000 words. Writing will be evaluated based on creativity, style, content and mechanics. All entries are due by 5 pm on Monday, April 13. Prizes will be awarded to first place winners in each category for each grade band. One overall winner will also be named. Winners will be announced on the City’s Facebook page on April 20.
