Trudy Williams, age 82, passed from her earthly home on July 30, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving husband and family.
She was born in Bells, TN on July 21, 1939, the daughter of the late Max Russell and Elizabeth Mosley Harwell. She was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Lambuth College. She was a member of Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church from 1940 until 1994 serving in various capacities with the church youth groups, Vacation Bible School, the church choir and teaching Sunday School. She and her husband later joined Northside Church, where she continued her servanthood by using her seamstress skills as a member of a group that provided blankets for newborns. She was also a member of the Raggedy Ann group enjoying the friendship and conversation. Trudy also assisted with summer weekends for both the Boy and Girl Scouts over the years. For many years Trudy used her sewing skills making Costumes for the Jackson Teen and Children’s Theater Guild.
She is survived by her husband, H. Hampton “Hamp” Williams, Jr. of Jackson, TN; her five children, Beth Williams Ellis of Jackson, TN, Jenny Williams Key (Laine) of Round Rock, TX, Russ Williams (Kim) of Louisville, KY. Wesley Williams (Lesa) of Trenton, TN, and Matt Williams (Ellen) of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, August 2, 2021, at Northside Church, with Rev. Gerry Campbell officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM at Northside Church, 2571 N. Highland Ave., Jackson, TN 38305. A private committal service will be held on Tuesday.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Room In The Inn, c/o Area Relief Ministries, 108 S. Church Street, Jackson, TN 38301 or the Meals on Wheels, c/o Southwest HRA Meals On Wheels, 201 W. Grand Street, Jackson, TN 38301.
