Travis Meigs, age 81, of Summertown, TN passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Summertown, TN, member of the American Military Society, NCOA Non Commissioned Officers Association, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Meigs served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as Master Sergeant during the Korean War and Veitnam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rushing Gaddy and Susan Burdette Meigs; his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Holt Meigs; one son, Eddie Meigs; and one brother, Kenneth Meigs.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, June 28, 2013. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN with full Military Honors.
