Our beloved, Travis Coolidge “Skip”Keeton, Jr., entered the great cloud of witnesses on June 24, 2020, for eternal rest. He served his family, church family, and Savior with integrity. He endured to the end and finished his Christian race.
Skip is survived by his spouse, Sharon Nix Keeton, with 54 years of marriage. His children Travis Doyle Keeton (Holly) and Jennifer Keeton McGough (Danny) know the love of a faithful father. Other survivors include his step mother (Margaret Keeton) ; sister, Toni Carroll (Dan), sister, Betty Ann Busy (Randy), and step sister, Christie Allen. Four grandsons also know his love that include: Dustin May, Tylan Hallmark, Aiden McGough and Travis Doyle Keeton, II.
Skip is preceded in death by his parents (Travis C. Keeton, Sr. and Ethel M. Pruitt-Keeton), a daughter (Michelle Deon Keeton), and a step sister (Sandra Spardlin).
Skip’s love for his Lord and Savior are evident by his devotions as a dedicated deacon, faithful member of New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God, Sunday School Superintendent, Assistant Sunday School teacher, musician, singer, church custodian and a member of the Southern Gospel Group named Anchored.
Life interests include: dirt-track racing, showing horses, go-cart racing, drag racing and most important #3 Keeton lawnmower racing.
Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct services on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Viewing and visitation will be 10am to 2pm at New Bethany Full Gospel Church of God. Address is 6091 Dogtown Road Nauvoo, Alabama.
A Celebration of Life Service will be officiated by Wayne Keeton at 2 pm in the church sanctuary with only family. Facebook Live will be available for others to view via the church’s Facebook page. A graveside service at Keeton Cemetery will immediately follow.
