Traffic Stops Yields Synthetic Cannabinoids (Spice)

DECATUR-On January 29 the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit made a routine traffic stop and found illegal drugs.  Brandon Lee Allen was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.   Here is what the Decatur Police Department had to say:

“On 01/29/2014 members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit were patrolling in the vicinity of Cardinal Dr SW and Mockingbird Ln SW. Officer Reynolds observed a red Honda Accord traveling southbound on Mockingbird Ln towards the intersection of Mockingbird Ln and Cardinal Dr SW. 

The Honda failed to come to a complete stop at the stop sign and failed to use a turn signal when it turned right onto Cardinal Dr SW. Officer Reynolds conducted a traffic stop for Failure to Signal Turn in the area of 5th Ave SW and Carolyn St SW. Officer Reynolds identified the front passenger as Brandon Lee Allen. 

During the course of the investigation Allen was found to be in possession of a quantity of Synthetic Cannabinoids (Spice). Allen was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to Decatur City Jail. Upon arrival to the jail, Allen was found to be in possession of a quantity of Hydrocodone pills. “
