DECATUR-A Decatur Police Officer on patrol made a routine traffic stop. He arrested two on drug charges and child endangerment.  Here is how  Decatur Police describe events leading up to the arrests:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

On May 1, 2015, Officer Frank Linam of the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division was patrolling in the area of Westmead Street and Beltline Road SW. Officer Linam conducted a traffic stop on a black Audi A4 at 2145 Westmead Drive for a moving violation (Failure to Use a Turn Signal).
Officers made contact with the driver, Elizabeth Morris and passenger

. Morris’ nine year old son was in the back seat of the vehicle.
During the course of the investigation, Officers located a quantity of Methamphetamine and Spice in the vehicle in close proximity to the nine year old child. Officers also located drug paraphernalia and a handgun during the search of the vehicle.
Elizabeth Morris was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Use a Turn Signal.
Monique Roscoe was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Officers then transported both Morris and Roscoe to the Decatur City Jail, where they were both processed in without incident.
Morris and Roscoe will later be transferred to Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $6,500.00 bond for Morris and a $5,500.00 bond for Roscoe.”
