Traffic Stop Nets Arrest Of Three Suspects On Drug Charges

a1DECATUR-Officers from the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit made a routine traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of three suspects.  The Decatur Police issued this statement regarding the arrests:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On 11/20/2015 at approximately 2132hrs, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit were on patrol near Danville Rd. and Westmeade Dr. SW.
While Officer Macklin was patrolling the area, he observed a gold Mitsubishi Montero Sport traveling northbound on Danville Rd with only one working head-light. At that time, Officer Macklin conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for Improper Equipment. The vehicle came to a stop ata2 the intersection of Danville Rd. and Diane St.
Officer Macklin made contact with the driver, front seat passenger and back seat passenger.
The driver was identified as John Louallen, front seat passenger was identified as Nickolaus Scoggins and the back seat passenger was identified as Ladonna Nelson.
While Officer Macklin was speaking with Louallen, Scoggins and Nelson, K9 Officer Swoopes arrived at the traffic stop.
Officer Swoopes deployed his canine “Duke” in which he gave an odor alert for the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
During the course of the search, Louallen was found to be in possession of a3drug paraphernalia and a quantity of marijuana. Scoggins was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. Nelson was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Officer Macklin placed Louallen under arrest for Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Improper Equipment.
Officer Macklin placed Scoggins under arrest for Possession of Marijuana 2nd.
Officer Macklin placed Nelson under arrest for Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Louallen, Scoggins and Nelson were transported to the Decatur City Jail where they were booked in.
Louallen was held in the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $1500.00 dollar bond.
Scoggins was held in the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $500.00 dollar bond.
Nelson was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3000.00 dollar bond.”
