Traffic Stop In Decatur Ends In Arrest Of Two On Possession Of “Ice”

DECATUR-On Tuesday,June 10th the Decatur Police Department made a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of 2 suspects for possession of a controlled substance.  Here is how they describe the incident:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“On 06/10/2014 members of Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit conducted a traffic stop at the corner of

Sandlin Rd and Courtney Dr due to knowing the driver of the vehicle had a revoked drivers license.

The driver was identified as Corey Van Hart and the passenger was identified as April Mayline Hart

During the course of the investigation, Investigators with the Organized Crime Unit responded to the scene. A short time later a quantity of high grade Methamphetamine, also known as “Ice” was located. A set of digital scales and plastic baggies, consistent with the packaging and sale of narcotics were also located inside the vehicle.

Corey Hart was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving while Revoked. Corey was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,500.00 bond.

April Hart was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. April was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,000.00 bond.”
