A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles in Hoover, where she was a longtime, faithful member.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Andrew) Hughes; son, Lee (Kenzie) Wayland; grandson, Collier Hughes; father, Bob Hendrix; sister, Alison (Sammy) Dodson; mother-in-law, Shirley Wayland; sister-in-law, Laura (Paul) Simonetti; brother-in-law, Alan Wayland; many loved nieces and nephews, and a wonderful extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Wayland, Jr.; mother, Beth Hendrix; and father-in-law, Dr. James Wayland, Sr.

Tracy was a 1977 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School, attended Auburn University, and graduated from the University of North Alabama.

The family would like to thank a multitude of friends, neighbors, and caretakers, who loved and supported Tracy through her journey.

Tracy believed in the research, and a hopeful cure, for pancreatic cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network would be appreciated.
