Tonya Gail Johnson White, age 52, of Phoenix, AZ and formerly of Vernon, AL, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, at her home in Phoenix.
Tonya was born September 11, 1970, in Columbus, MS. She was a 1988 graduate of Lamar County High School and a 1992 graduate of Mississippi University for Women. She graduated from Jones School of Law in 1997 and practiced law in Vernon for a number of years. Tonya loved her family and friends, and animals, especially dogs. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed traveling.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, May 21, at 3:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Vernon, with Bro. Brandon Phillips, Heath Allred, and Bro. Jerry Oakes officiating. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 at the church prior to the service.
Tonya is survived by her parents, Clanton and Mary Nell Johnson, and Vernon, AL, and Jerry and Jinette Williams of Sulligent, AL; one son, Brayden (Rhea) Allred of Parrish, AL; one daughter, Berkley Allred, of Jasper, AL; one step-brother, Brandon (Stephanie) Whitmire, of Columbus, MS; one step-sister, Cheryl (Murray) Woody, of Caledonia, MS; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
