Tony Simmons, “Rogersville Rocket”, was born May 8, 1966, and departed peacefully from this life April 24, 2015, at his home in Rogersville.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years and eternal soul mate, Melita Hicks Simmons, parents, R.W. and Erma Swain, grandson, Dylan, sisters, Heather Rice Hannon and Carolyn Newman.
He is survived by his mother, Faye Davis; children, Kelley Simmons, Tiffany Simmons and Nathan Balch, Shana and Matt Burroughs, Trey Hicks and Mary Garner; grandchildren, Dakota, Aaden, Tyson, Koen, Natalia, Sophia and Mason; sisters, Lisa Simmons, Valerie Rice, Gay (Marlin) Miller, Diana Watson, Pam Brown, Sandy Watson, Kimberly Swain; brothers, Ronney (Barbara) Pierce and Terry Swain; close nephew, Matthew Rice.
There are also many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends that were forever touched by Tony’s charming personality, quick wit, his devotion to being the “Concrete Man” and his passion for racing. “I WIN!!” His memory will live on and always be treasured in our hearts. The memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Rogersville Funeral Home. We will welcome all friends and family beginning at 4 p.m. with a celebration of Tony’s life to follow at 6 p.m.
