Toni Marie Penn

A visitation was held Sunday March 8, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home, Hartselle, Alabama.
On Wednesday, March 5, 2026, Toni Marie Penn passed away after a brief stay at Huntsville Hospital. She succumbed to the aftereffects of double pneumonia, stroke, and a viral infection in the heart.
Toni is survived by her daughter, Ava-Marie O’Neal Barnes, her father, Jerry O’Neal Penn, her mother, Paula (Vicki) Penn, her stepmother, Sandra Penn, and her favorite uncle and aunt, Tommy and Rhonda Penn.
She leaves behind many other relatives and friends, including her lifelong friend Kevin Pitre in Louisiana. Toni was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Ozell Burgess Davis.
As a small child, Toni lived in Japan with her Dad and Mom. She learned to speak fluent Japanese and was our interpreter when we traveled the country.
She is a graduate of Gonzales High School, Gonzales, Louisiana, class of 1987, where she met her dear friend Kevin. She also attended Austion High, Decatur, Alabama, prior to moving to Louisiana to live with her Dad.
After school, she had several different jobs throughout her life, one of which was at the Whitesburg nursing and elder care facility in Huntsville as an insurance coder/liaison and as a visiting angel to the patients. Toni worked as an assistant to a chiropractor and later started her own therapeutic massage business in Huntsville.
Toni was a single mom and raised a beautiful and wonderful daughter.
She was loved dearly and will be missed greatly.
