Toney Man Dies From Injuries Received In two-Vehicle Accident Near Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a two-vehicle accident near Huntsville involving a tractor-trailer has taken the life of one person:

“A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, has claimed the life of Toney man.

William E. Darby, 35, was critically injured when the 2003 Toyota 4Runner that he was driving was struck by the 2021 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Yuriy Malyuk, 27, of Sacramento, Calif. Darby was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Alabama 53 near Kelly Spring Road, approximately one mile northeast of the Huntsville city limits, in Madison County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
