Tona Marie Hoover, age 65, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 31, 1957, in Peoria, Illinois, Tona was the daughter of the late Thomas Prince and the late Gloria Wright Prince. She was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School in Washington, Illinois. She loved animals and feeding birds and had a special love for her daughter’s American Bulldog, Princess. Above all, she was an amazing mother and Nana to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Derek (Shawna Burnice) Hoover of Pekin, IL, daughter, Chelsea (Tremel Jennings) Hoover of Columbia, TN, brother, James Owen Prince, grandchildren, Jason Fuller, Tyi’Brease Holt, and Henry Burnice-Hoover, and special friend, Timothy “Pyro” Hethcote.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother.
