Funeral Services for Mr. Tommy Wayne Knop, age 68 of Ashland, will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at the New Harmony Cemetery.
Mr. Knop passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Grandview Medical Center. He was born and raised in Clay County and graduated from Clay County High School. He worked for several businesses in his younger years, including Madex and Ace Products, Higgins Slacks, and for the Lineville Nursing Home and for a nursing home in Tuscaloosa. In his later years, Mr. Knop took care of his elderly parents at home as long as he was able. He enjoyed listening to classic rock music, playing basketball, and was an avid Alabama football fan. Mr. Knop also enjoyed going to the beach when he was able.
Mr. Knop is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Delilah McCormick Knop; sister in law, Delores M. Hill of Ashland; and Brother in law, Bo McCormick (Delwyn) of Cragford, plus a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: James F. and Louise Mitchell Knop; and a half-sister, Ruth Medley.
Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.
His visitation will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville, beginning at 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
