Tommy Hughes Tommy “Tom” Hughes, age 73 of Florence, passed away on February 21 at his home. Services will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 4 p.m. at the Elkins Chapel in Florence. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Pastor Anthony Martin will be officiating.

Mr. Hughes was a member of Chapel Church and was an avid Alabama fan.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie Aldean and Carrol Hughes; Special cousins, Jerry and John Hughes; Special aunt and uncle, Tom and Mary Hughes; and his special pet, “Precious.”

He is survived by his wife, Janice Lindsey Hughes; a son, Tony Hughes; a daughter, Latricia Hensley (James); a stepson, Jeff Weitz (Christy); a stepdaughter, Kerri Hobbs; grandchildren, Amberly Smith (Marshall), Madison and Clark Hughes, Georgia Crow, Zach Crow (Alyssa), Gabe Hensley, Brady Nickols (Bayli), Landon and McKayla Hobbs, Gunner, Slade and Gracelyn Weitz, Jamie and Nicole Hensley; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Everett Evans, Koen Smith, and Lucas Roberson; sister, Carolyn Vandiver; special cousin, Bob Hughes (Pat); and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Enhabit Hospice, the offices of Dr. Carlos Liotta, and the offices of Dr. Bethany Jackson.
