Tommy “Tinker” Stanfield, 75, of Florence, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 26, 2025. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 29 – 11:00am at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence, AL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Stanfield; parents, Austin and Byron Stanfield; brother, Jimmy Ray Stanfield; and sisters, Nell Morgan and Carolyn Odell.
Tommy is survived by his son and best friend, Gerald Stanfield (Leigh) of Florence; brothers Jack Stanfield, of Huntsville; Terry Stanfield (Tammy), of Florence; sister-in-law Shelia Blackstock (Johnny) of Muscle Shoals; brother-in-law Paul Pounders (Pat) of Florence; numerous nieces and nephews, and by his dear, devoted friend Sharon Johnson.
Tommy was a retired Florence City Park Ranger where he was recognized for his heroism. In retirement, he and his son began a painting business, Stanfield’s Painting. He was a diligent and enthusiastic worker and continued to work and serve others in his retirement. He believed and lived the two greatest commands from Mark 12:30-31. Tommy truly loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength, and he loved his neighbor as himself. He was a faithful member of Helton Drive Church of Christ, always encouraging and helping others. He loved his family, brethren, friends, and neighbors and made many lasting friendships while helping others and working outdoors.
