Tommy Ray Sanders, age 73 of Sipsey, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. Rev. Rick Levelle will officiate.
He was a Loving husband to Anita Sanders; Beloved father to Timmy and Stephanie Sanders, Larry and Kristy Sanders, Shane and Heather Murray; Devoted Grandfather to Kelsey and Johnny Talley, Aubree Sanders, Saige Sanders, Rick and Courtney Thomas; Precious Great Grandfather to Grace and Anna Talley, Ellie and Lillie Thomas, Avery and Beckham Murray, Connor Hamilton; Caring Brother-in-Law to Paulette Murray, Bunny Murray, J.J. Lovingood. Loved by a multitude of Nephews, Nieces and Friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents-Maggie and Razzie Sanders; Parents-in-Law-Louise and Lawerence Murray; Brothers-Benny and Faye Sanders, William and Nancy Sanders, David Sanders; Sister-in-Law-Star and Donnie Hodges; Special Loves-Chris and Christy Murray.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Sanders, Larry Sanders, Shane Murray, “Weedy” Steven Hagler, Saige Sanders, Jayce Williams, Rick Thomas, Johnny Talley and Jessie Fredrick.
“My love, wait for me by the Golden Gates. I’ll be coming soon, you won’t have long to wait. You left so unexpectedly – We didn’t say goodbye- We can only stand here with tear filled eyes. You’ll never know how very much we miss you so, our heartbreak and pain continuously flows. Your sons will follow in your footsteps-they will do the best they can. To always be what you taught them-a good and decent man.
We will make sure the babies remember the love for them you had, we’ll remind them of all the good times you and they had.
