Tommy O’Neal Ables, age 67, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Monday, February 07, 2022 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Tommy had worked as a brick layer, a laborer at the mobile home manufacturer, and several other jobs throughout his life. His favorite pastime was sitting under his favorite tree, and enjoying his coffee. He loved his furry companions, Bandit, Sissy, Pumpkin, Snowball, Half Pint, Callico, and Playful. He loved his wife and family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher O’Neal Ables; father, Edward Theo Ables; mother, Mary Lou McLemore Ables; brothers, Larry Ables, Delton Ables, grandparents, Dewey & Virginia McLemore, and Evelyn Ables.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Sandra McGriff Ables; children, Michelle Edwards, Melissa Grace (James); step-son, Kevin Morton; grandchildren, Chris Grace (Deanna), Taylor Britnell (Tyler), Collin Grace, Noah Edwards; step-grandchild, Kinley Blake Morton; great-grandchildren, Addilyn Kayte Britnell, Ashlynn Collins Grace; sisters, Margaret Baker (Larry), Dianne Patrick (Willie); two nieces, Dana Hargett (Lynn), Valerie Hood (Nicholas); and two great-nieces, Lianna Hood and Willa Hood.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 09, 2022 at Spry Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Phil Campbell City Cemetery, with Bro. John McCullar officiating the service.
The pallbearers will be Willie Patrick, Larry Baker, Nicholas Hood, Lynn Hargett, and Joseph “PeeWee” Winstead.
