Mr. Tommie Lee Rushing, age 91, of Vernon, AL, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
Mr. Rushing was born August 30, 1930, in Millport, AL, to the late George W. and Ellie Mae (Godfrey) Rushing. He served in the U.S. Army, and was an electrician. He was a faithful member of Springfield Free Will Baptist Church, and was married to the late Dean Rushing. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Furnace Hill. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 PM.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Harold) Partain of Caledonia, MS, Debbie (Jay) Alvis of Dora, AL, Jennifer (Phillip) Bennett of Vernon, AL, and Dawn Wigington of Louisville, MS; five grandchildren, Ryan Partain, Jayme (Patrick) Rhodes, Ryleigh Bennett, Payton (Jacob) Marsh, and Tracen Wigington; eight great-grandchildren, Kyra Partain, Eli Partain, Ellie Rhodes, Ariel Partain, Lincoln Rhodes, Elekiel Rhodes, Tatum Marsh, and Tommie Marsh; one sister, Dellie Trull; and a host of other family and friends.
