A Memorial Funeral service for Tom Harris, 79, will be Sunday, October 5, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 10089 Al Hwy 36 in Lacey’s Spring, AL, 35754, held by his family.
Mr. Harris died on Monday, September 22, 2025 at his residence. He was born September 4, 1946, in Dallas County, Alabama, to Thomas Greenwood Harris, Sr. and Thelma Christine Denard Harris.
Mr. Harris was born in Selma, and was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Accounting. He was employed with the Birmingham Housing Authority, prior to his retirement. He loved his alma mater and loved Auburn Football. He lived in Birmingham for 20 years and raised 2 children there, Elizabeth and Thomas.
He met Carol later in life and moved to Hartselle where he lived 20 plus years. Tom was a member for 3 years of a Men’s Bible study that met weekly. He loved his brothers in the faith and his Bible Study groups. He was also a member of the Church of the Highlands, Madison Campus. He loved History especially World War II, because of his father serving then, loved reading, crossword puzzles, sudokus, the Gulf, Ocean, fishing, Auburn football but loved his Lord the most.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a step-son- Bret Nance, and a brother-in-law- Charles Golson.

Daughter – Elizabeth Henderson (Sean),
Step-Son – Scott Nance (Jenna),
Step-Daughter – Jennifer Hensley (Chris),
Step-daughter-in-law-Teresa Nance,
Brother – Randy Harris (partner- Sherman Cobb),
Sister – Judy Golson ,
Sixteen Grandchildren, and
Twenty-one Great Grandchildren.
