Tom Cowan – Obituary

Funeral for Tom Cowan, 85, of Moulton will be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Agee officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cowan, who died Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at his residence, was born Friday, July 17, 1931, to Thomas Lester Cowan and Mildred Yeager Cowan. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and telling people about Christ. He served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cowan retired from Pontiac Motors after 36 years in Pontiac, Michigan as a skilled tradesman in tool and die and also worked with Harold Fretwell in Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rachel P. Cowan; and sister, Peg Silvey.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Henderson Cowan; two sons, Ron (Joan) Cowan and Dan (Kandy) Cowan; stepson, Scott Henderson; daughter, Sandra (Rick) Austin; two stepdaughters, Cindy (Bobby) McIntyre and Amy (Brad) Thrasher; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
