Toby Cantrell age 76 of Smithville, passed away at his residence on Monday night June 9, 2025. He was born March 17, 1949, to his parents the late John Curtis and Elma Louise Womack Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Moore. Mr. Cantrell was a member of the New Bildad Primitive Baptist Church and worked as a Run Test Tech for more than 30 years at Carrier Air Conditioning. Funeral services will be 1:PM Thursday June 12, 2025, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Elder Joseph Arnold and Elder Jeff Winfree officiating and burial in New Bildad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 1:PM till 7:PM and Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. He is survived by wife, Carolyn Cantrell of Smithville; children, Jamie (Andrew) Cantrell, Lisa (Dustin) Prater, and Teresa Cantrell Atnip all of Smithville; grandchildren, Sarah (Ricardo) Torres, Hannah (Nathan) Moore, Isaac Cantrell, Lauren (Kyle) Thompson, Maddie Prater, Zachary Atnip, Peyton Atnip. great-grandchildren, R. J. Torres, Javi Torres, Toby Moore, Henry Moore, Tobin Thompson; brother, Stanley (Sharon) Cantrell; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends also survive. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Cantrell family.
